The EU Council finally approved 1.2 billion euros for Ukraine

Money received within one year.

The EU Council approved the allocation of the authorities of Ukraine of credit in the amount of EUR 1.2 billion to overcome the consequences of the pandemic coronavirus to the economy. This decision was made on Wednesday, may 20, at the meeting of the EU Council, reports the with reference to the Correspondent.

Earlier the initiative was supported by the European Commission and the European Parliament. Now the authorities of Ukraine and the EU have to agree on the terms of the Memorandum, after which during the year, the money will be allocated.

Recall, the European Commissioner for neighbourhood and enlargement Oliver Fargei previously said that Ukraine will receive from the EU loan for 500 million euros after signing a new loan agreement between official Kyiv and the International monetary Fund.

Earlier, Premier Denis Shmyhal reported that the Ukrainian government wants to receive in the current year $ 10 billion of Western loans. According to him, this money from different international financial institutions: IMF, European institutions, the EU and the partner countries in General.
