Cyclone Amphan come to West Bengal and the coast of Bangladesh.
To the shores of India approached the cyclone Amphan that the next day will become an extremely strong storm. Wind speeds will reach up to 155 km/h (43 m/s), reports the Chronicle.info with reference to the Correspondent.
“It is very likely that the cyclone will move North-East through the North-Western part of the Bay of Bengal and come to West Bengal and Bangladesh coast between Dighi (West Bengal) and the island of Hatiya (Bangladesh), near the Sundarbans (the mangrove forest in the Delta of the rivers Ganges, Brahmaputra and Meghna – ed.) in the afternoon or the evening of may 20 as a very strong storm cyclone with a maximum wind speed 155-165 km/ h and gusts of wind up to 180 km/h”, – stated in the message.
Fishermen in the Indian States of West Bengal and Odisha, it is recommended not to go to sea to 21 may inclusive.
On Monday, authorities of India and Bangladesh reported that it evacuated a total of about 2 million people from coastal areas in connection with the approaching cyclone. Several thousand people have already fled their homes.
