Pristayko commented on the idea of patrols in the Donbass

Earlier, the President Zelensky suggested the idea of patrolling the border with RF in Donbas, together with representatives of the OSCE and “LDNR”.

Joint patrols in the Donbass, which the President said Vladimir Zelensky in Munich, registered in the Minsk agreement, the preconditions for the implementation of these agreements not been reached, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to the Correspondent.

According to the head of the foreign Ministry Vadim Pristayko, patrolling is expected to attract those individuals who is on the territory of Donbass. He said that joint patrols should enter the national police of Ukraine, the OSCE observers and representatives of communities residing in the occupied territory of Donbass.

“There’s not written whether it be fighters who stood at checkpoints with Kalashnikov. It could be new people,” said Pristayko and added that he wants “to go in this discussion.” “We even now this is not close” — said the Minister.

Thus, in his opinion, the ideal situation for Ukraine would be the fact that the Ukrainian border guards will control the border between Ukraine and Russia in the Donbas.

At the same time, he asked whether, therefore, through joint patrols, legalized by the militants. “We would like to prevent the legalization of anyone who is on the other side of the line of contact,” said Pristayko.

It has therefore been suggested democratic model of local elections, in order to select at least the lowest level of authorities, he said.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if some of these people are the same, which de facto currently in charge. We understand we are not naive. But this is the way a democratic state, which we chose. People will have to choose and be responsible for their chosen people. We can’t from Kiev to appoint,” said Pristayko.

At the same time, the Minister recalled that the security situation does not allow to hold elections as at the moment. He expressed the belief that now all Ukrainian political parties are unlikely to be represented in the normal political process in the occupied part of Donbass.
