The Cabinet has allocated 2.2 billion hryvnias for salaries to teachers

The Cabinet has allocated 3.5 billion UAH for the development of schools.

The Cabinet of Ministers meeting on Wednesday, February 12, decided to forward UAH 2.2 billion on teachers ‘ salaries, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to the Correspondent.

It is noted that the payment of funds for the first time teachers will be based the actual number of students and not on last year’s data.

“The money that we are now “small car” in place, will not affect the rate or mandatory payments. However, they will allow local authorities to pay the full premium for the prestige and prizes,” — said the Minister of education and science Anna Novosad.

According to the Ministry, by these means, budgets of cities of regional value will increase by 933,6 million; district budgets will increase by 588,4 million; and the combined budgets of territorial communities will increase by 712,3 million

“This decision does not affect teachers, which the city authorities have so far paid all allowances and bonuses. Such cities, for example, is Kiev. However, we are going to change the approach to the payment of teachers ‘ salaries, increasing the base rate. I am convinced that this will make the teaching profession more secure and create a fuses for local power, which often manipulates the allowances among the employees of the public sector”, the Minister added.

Also, the Cabinet has provided a subvention of UAH 3.5 billion for the development of schools. As expected Novosad, this program and designated funds will help schools become safer and more comfortable for students and their parents, teachers and school administration.

“Repair or completion of construction, purchase of equipment and construction of classrooms, renovation of the interiors of school buildings — here the possibilities offered by this subvention to schools. This year it is 3.5 billion, and our goal is to annually increase its volume,” said Novosad.
