Food products in Ukraine in January 2020 rose 0.5%.
In January 2020, the inflation was 0.2% compared to 1% in January 2019. This has led to its decline in the annual rate to 3.2% from 4.1%, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to Country.
This was reported by the State statistics service (state statistics) on Monday.
According to the data, core inflation (purified of prices of seasonal goods — Ed.) in January of this year remained at a negative level – minus 0,2 percent while the core inflation in annual terms fell to 3.3% from 3.9%.
Food products in Ukraine in January 2020 rose 0.5%. Most of all (by 6.6%) grew vegetables. 1.4-by 0.3%, prices for dairy products, beef, grain products, milk, cheese, soft drinks, bread. At the same time in 1,5-0,3% cheaper eggs, sugar, pork, rice, fish and fish products, sunflower oil.
Prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco rose 0.8%, clothing and footwear decreased by 5.6%. Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels rose by 1.7% (including gas went up by 10.7%), and hot water and heating fell by 2.5%.
Household items and household appliances fell by 0.1%, health care — no change of 0.0%. Transport as a whole fell by 0.7% (including fuel prices decreased by 4.0%). However, 1.4% increased travel in road passenger transport.
Prices of communication rose 0.8 percent, recreation and culture unchanged 0,0%, education rose by 1.4%, restaurants and hotels rose 1.7%.
In December last year, the state statistics service recorded a deflation of 0.2% and core inflation minus 0.3 percent. In General, for 2019 inflation fell to 4.1% from 9.8% in 2018.
