Russia is ready to extend a gas agreement, in the case of successful cooperation in the next five years.
Russia is ready to extend the contract for gas transit through the territory of Ukraine after 2024. This is stated in article of the Minister of energy Alexander Novak, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to the Correspondent.
“As we have all seen in the end of last year, new routes will not stop the continued transit of Russian gas through the territory of Ukraine. We talked about this. It is important that we still hear each other, and we with our Ukrainian partners failed to agree on gas transit from 2020 for a period of five years on mutually beneficial terms. If this collaboration is successful, perhaps we will continue after 2024”, — he wrote.
Novak noted that the terms of the new contract with Ukraine for gas transit is mutually beneficial.
As you know, on a new transit contract, Gazprom is to supply via Ukraine to 65 billion cubic meters of gas in 2020, and over the next 4 years — 40 billion.
