Canadian lawyers have filed a class action lawsuit against the government of Iran in connection with the downed January 8, the plane of the Ukrainian UIA. Canada demanded Tehran to pay at least 1.5 billion canadian dollars (about 1.1 billion U.S.) for the deaths, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to Country.
The defendants named head of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and commanders of the Islamic revolutionary guard Corps (IRGC), including General Amir Ali Hajizade. The name of the main plaintiff media do not call for security reasons. However, according to some it is a close relative of one of the victims, whose family lives in Iran.
