Correspondence about frozen aid to Kiev will not be declassified.
The white house has blocked publication of e-mails representatives of the administration about the delay in military assistance to Ukraine last summer, reports the Chronicle.info with reference for Today.
The letter says the U.S. Department of justice the public organization The Center for Public Integrity, which is the 31 January and published on its website.
Earlier, the court approved the petition the Center for Public Integrity about the release of the emails in accordance with the Act on freedom of information.
The U.S. justice Department followed the court decision and published the correspondence, but much of the text was classified and filled in black. The Agency explained that “the privilege of the President” not to publish information about “internal discussions”.
“The letters reflect the communication between the President, the Vice President and the President’s closest advisors on the adoption of the President’s decision, so they are privileged”, – said the lawyer of the White house office of management and budget Heather Walsh.
But the Center for Public Integrity requested correspondence without censorship, because it concerns illegal actions of trump and the interests of the public.
