Google has added to Android new way of messaging

Google announced that text messaging on Android smartphones will be much better thanks to the introduction of new technologies RCS (Rich Communication Services) in-app Messages. A new standard data exchange Protocol RCS was developed in 2008 by the GSM Association. RCS allows subscribers to communicate via a universal messaging service with the same features that the messengers like Viber, Telegram and WhatsApp.

  • Group chats with up to 100 users.
  • Share files of up to 100MB.

  • Supports extensions.

Implementation of RCS in Android also provides a group communication, such as the ability to add and remove people from conversations or chats to facilitate navigation. New features available in the free app update Google Messages, which usually goes along with most Android devices. It can also be downloaded separately from Google Play.

The update is only available in the USA. Google expects that worldwide it will be available by the end of 2019.
