AMD has finally expanded the range of 7-nm processors Ryzen 3000 series (Matisse) two long-awaited fuel-efficient models: the 12-core Ryzen 9 3900 and 6-core Ryzen 5 3500X.
Alas, Ryzen Ryzen 3500X 5 and 9 3900 will be distributed through OEM channels, that is, they can be found in complete systems from various manufacturers, but not in the free market. At least the first time: a 4-core CPU and 5 2500X Ryzen Ryzen 3 2300X last year, too, was initially distributed only via OEM channels, but now are sold in Ukrainian stores. It is likely that in the case of Ryzen Ryzen 3500X 5 and 9 3900 history will repeat itself, reports the Chronicle.info with reference to itc.ua.
So, Ryzen 9 3900 is a 12-core model with support for multi-threading, TDP of 65 watts, and reduced frequencies (3,1-4,3 GHz). For comparison, already familiar to us older 12-core model Ryzen 9 3900X operates at frequencies of 3.8-4.6 GHz with a TDP of 105 watts. As for Ryzen 5 3500X, its distinguishing feature is the lack of support for Simultaneous Multithreading (SMT). That is, in the case of Ryzen 5 3500X the number of physical cores (6) equals the number of threads that the processor can process simultaneously. Earlier in the network there were rumors about the youngest model Ryzen 5 3500, but its existence is not officially confirmed. Unfortunately, the prices of new CPU’s manufacturer announced.
