Answer should be expected after the completion of the trial of former White house counsel Gregory Craig.

The General Prosecutor expects cooperation with the U.S. Department of justice in the investigation of the “black accounting” of the former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych and the embezzlement of Ukrainian budget in 2012.

According to him, the answer should be expected after the completion of the trial of former White house counsel Gregory Craig.

“In the U.S. justice Department said that while there are trials in America, our errands related to the investigation against Mr. Craig, can’t be done and the results we announced. The position expressed. For a long time we just didn’t know what was happening, just didn’t have the answer. Now there is an understanding, when will we get assistance,” – said Gorbatyuk.

He recalled that a special Department is now investigating embezzlement of funds of the Ministry of justice of Ukraine at the time of payment of work on the report, which in 2012 was prepared by the company Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.

The Ministry of justice of Ukraine has used this document to justify the European court of human rights detention of former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.

“To give a legal assessment of the participants in the use of these funds, including from the American side, it is important for us to get the documents. And the question, in particular, representatives of the law firm Skadden, Paul Manafort,” – said Gorbatyuk.
